Ah, Switchfoot and Jennifer Knapp ... love them too!

Just be sure that road trip to Texas includes Dallas (you and Veronica and I would have the BEST time). :-)

I also love Jennifer Knapp! ... too bad she's not recording much anymore. She was a reluctant artist, I seem to recall. Beautiful tunes, tho.

Just came across your blog via a link from a link from a link or something like that.
Hope you get to Texas some day. It's a big place, but lots to see and do.

Question: When did you decide to convert to Catholicism and what made you decide to do it? Just curious as I, too, am considering conversion.

hi, annabel - thank you for stopping by :)

i decided to convert to Catholicism when we moved here 12.5 years ago and started attending a Catholic church - i went really full circle prior to coming home.

i like structure, pageantry - all the beauty of the sacred Traditions and was really compelled to join when i started learning about the True Presence in the Eucharist. i wanted so much to receive Communion, but understood i had to be in full communion with the Church, so i started rcia classes.

didn't follow through my first round, but tried again two years later and that was now nine years ago. i am very involved in my parish and would rather serve than warm a pew ;)

are you attending mass? or visiting area churches? i would recommend doing so if you are interested in learning more about the faith. it can be confusing, as well, so you may, once you find a parish you really like, wish to make an appointment to discuss rcia classes or sitting in on a few before you make your decision.

it was the right one for me, i love the richness of the faith.

and now, i am going on too long - feel free to ask any questions you may have - i have a lot of devout friends here whose faith really mirrors mine in just about every aspect - it's amazing what the internet can do in bringing like-minded folk together.

peace :)
