one adam twelve...see the man...

remember the last time my husband and i attempted to go out to dinner and leave my son in charge of my daughter and her friend "a"? here's a reminder.

so tonight, after almost a month of not going to dinner by ourselves in almost a month, we decided enough time had passed and we went out. we get a call from my middle son saying the girls heard noises upstairs that sounded like footsteps...we said "max, we'll be right home." he said, "mom, i heard them too..." my husband said "call 9-1-1 and we will be right there."

*sigh*

we get home before the police arrive (tax dollars hard at work) and the dispatcher still had max on the phone - two police officers arrive, and asked if anyone else was inside the house. answer: no. then if we find someone inside, he will be treated like a criminal. uh: okay.

before you know it, the complete s.w.a.t. from the next town over pulled up, all sporting machine guns (drawn) and combat gear. eight officers and detectives in all.

uh, guys? i think it might've been the cats running up and down the stairs. and so it goes...

nobody was inside my home. all secure. and we are pretty sure "a" will never be allowed over for a sleepover again.

*sigh*

"a" is on the phone, exclaiming to her mother how fun it was. . . . i was thinking it was a pretty fun time, too. . . .

You sure know how to show a girl a good time ... that sounds like the time Hannah was spending the night with two other girls (the mother was out for the evening) and they thought they heard someone trying to get into the house. Tom and I race over there (my praying Hail Mary all the way) ... nothing. Except that the policeman was young and cute so it wasn't a wasted evening ...

If Max heard it too, maybe it was "group" hysteria. He didn't realize it was the cats? LOL
Love you bunches, YR

Well, they'll certainly have an interesting story to tell their friends later.
