stations of the cross

i stayed after mass today and prayed the stations of the cross. this is something i totally did not do last year as watching The Passion of the Christ once a week was my *stations* if you will. that had a profound impact on me.

today's stations did, too, though. the prayers themselves are simplistic and the meditative quality behind them really touched me today. i wasn't going to stay but i gave my friend a lift to church and she really wanted to stay, so i did.

i am glad i did.

i am providing a link here (stations of the cross) and in the title, above to common prayers and pictures (the stations are different in appearance but are the same at the core) in case anyone would be interested in knowing more. basically, you have a leader who announces what the station is, says a short statement and you follow in kind by reciting from the booklet provided a response. there should be a meditative pause prior to the leader then moving to the next station...

pax Christi.
