we had been thinking about adding to our family even prior to simon's death, so while it may seem like it is a bit soon to have two new babies, we are comfortable with our decision to add to our *garden* i went to the animal shelter yesterday and brought lily home, calling the king on the cell phone, asking for mercy and pardon to obtain sister kitty - resounding no, or so i thought. upon arrival home from work, the king of the castle, even though he never said "yes, go back and get her," he said "i can't believe you actually listened to me when i said only one..." phone call was made, kitty was placed on hold for adoption and they actually gave her to me at no additional charge, spaying fee included. i am thrilled.
lest we become a "wierd cat family," all such additional tulips or rhodo's are gonna have to wait :)
p.s. - i did try, just so you know, to name them *martha & mary* - that met with much consternation and debate so i acceded when molly said "how about lily?" then daisy was a natch b/c it is my favorite flower and when it dawned on me we already had a *rose* it was a perfect idea...
