goodies.
so i don't have a specific topic to discuss but figured i'd upload a picture of my goodie bags for the lady golfers for their outing tomorrow and fill you on on the balance of my week at work and vacation bible school...
what i learned, my week in review, my "goodies":
~*~ it's okay to feel blessed when you go around most of the time questioning and wondering *why* and even though mortifying, a sincere apology -- even if it has gone unaccepted -- is good for the soul.
~*~ some children march to the beat of their own drummer which is cool to witness and even though your kitchen help is about 40 years your senior, repeats herself often and goes on unendingly about days (years?) gone by when volunteering at church was a weekly event, she was an angel and worked untiringly and you'd have her back in a heartbeat.
~*~ reaching out for people when they are hurting, even if only by prayer, furthers the kingdom of God. reaching out over a glass of wine can also bring more to the forefront of a person than you'd ever thought possible.
~*~ kids have some really odd, really funky food allergies and a gigantic hershey's chocolate bar given to a 6-year-old before dinner doesn't necessarily equate to being a good appetizer; bringing it up after dancing in the music room wouldn't necessarily constitute dessert.
~*~ the internet is a cool place where your friends are NOT imaginary, you pray for them as you would any others, take their advice and order music as suggested, go to the library (as suggested) even though you find out the very book you wanted, they not only possess only one copy of, but it was checked out "just this morning" and will most likely be gone for three weeks...libraries are still really cool places :) but amazon.com had my book for only $7 used and i thought it fair, so went ahead and bought it (i have no patience to wait...)
~*~ finally, that drinking three glasses of wine on an empty stomach at the *mandatory meeting* held every year after VBS with the other parent volunteers isn't the best idea; coming in at 1:15 a.m. when your normal bedtime is 10:00 p.m. not the best idea, either. bed spinning and remembering to swing leg over bed to stop said spinning? priceless. memory dredged up from the past, from your days gone by.
i am now **this close** to understanding why my kitchen volunteer was the way she was...
peace :)
