i've got the blues.

as far as i can tell from the papers, we did not get voted best breakfast. i am uncertain who did at this point, but for what it is worth it almost doesn't matter.

that was the first bit of news.

the second one from the husband this morning was our purveyor called - remember when i was excited about sending something to someone and was all secretive like? it was rejected before it even made it to the border - you see, i was sending 20 pounds of jersey blueberries to my friend rhymes with kerouac at the mission so they could have fresh fruit for their breakfast and they were rejected. in philadelphia, no less - they are fresh produce and they were unable to get them across the border to canada without a bunch of red tape and loopholes and i am crushed.

**sigh**

anyone want 20 pounds of jersey blues?

***actually, i thought i'd update: i picked my berries up from the produce place who was kind enough to attempt the shipping and took them straight away to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission...big announcement from the guy behind the desk for someone in the kitchen to meet the "lady with the blueberries" it was lunchtime, so there was a line and an audible cheer went up from the ladies who were waiting to eat.

a gentleman walking by me muttered (a little louder than under his breath) and said "any whipped cream?" i said "uhhhh....no!!!" he snapped his fingers in front of himself and said "dang!"

i grinned, handed them to the kitchen guy with a small explanation, and walked away.

not a bad day after all :)
