for a very touching retrospective, may i suggest you visit crystal's flickr account to see her view of new orleans prior to this catastrophic event, as well as fish's unique perspective on people, places, things. once viewed, it is clear to see why they wish to go back and reclaim what was lost.

turn your gaze now, if you will, to the toteboard on my right showing totals gathered to date via paypal. simply stated, you are an amazing, wonderful people in this thing we call the blog-o-shpere. never have i come across such incredible generosity.

never.

i know chad & crystal are appreciative and i feel blessed.

speaking of feeling blessed...we just received word from the head honcho at the vfw hall that they are not only allowing us to use their facility on the 16th for our benefit, they are doing so without cost and we didn't have to wait until wednesday night to find out! we will not be serving alcohol, which is alright by me due to the fact that the two (2) garage bands we have lined up are all minors, as are their friends. no need to complicate an event further by having to ask for i.d., so we are okay with that, too.

i have a gentleman sending me articles for our *raffles* from scotland in an effort to help raise money for this event. again, i am so beyond touched by the response and the generous efforts that i am (almost) speechless.

you guys rock.
