my day in brief and movie ideas requested

and it has to be brief because i am only upright for about 1/2 hour at a clip.

i have the croup. i feel like i am two years old and unable to breathe in the middle of the night, but that's not the worst part.

what could be worse, the pain? it's pretty painful and doesn't feel so hot.

but the worst? i can't talk. i had what resembled a voice in the morning, now it is non-existent, barely a whisper. my family doesn't know what to do, but i have heard shouts of joy and lots of hand-clapping over any type of dialogue i attempt to pursue with them.

niiice.

the kids off to school, i ran around (slowly) and did our banking, got gas, and ran to the store for "milk, eggs and fabric softener." (big prize to whomever can identify the movie that line came form...) we are expecting our first big snow event (whatever happened to the word "storm?") of the season and God knows since i failed to grocery shop due to the permanent residence taken up on the chair in the living room, i had to make sure the children had rations should the *event* leave them home-bound and away from school for the day tomorrow.

i can feel the chagrin already at the expectation of same :)

so i barely get home and settled back into my chair when the doorbell rings. and then the incessant knocking. it was the police. they had my dog who had escaped, once again. i am sure he was really up for a lecture, but since i was wearing my official rolling stones pajama pants with matching tee shirt (tongue sticking out and all), and being voiceless, he found it wouldn't be much of a fight. just to show herbie (dawg) i was angry, i refused to talk to him all day.

other than that, things are cool here. not one decoration up (save for the Advent Calendar and the outside lights my husband did) and not one present bought yet (aside from what my dd and i have been working on, project-wise, since september). i am feeling Christmas-spirited because i've been watching all of my favorite movies - any suggestions from the crowd? this is what i have seen thus far (with the requisite number of kids in the room, thank you...), and have two more days house-bound:

1. it's a wonderful life.
2. the homecoming (waltons)
3. scrooge (with albert finney)
4. a Christmas carol (with george c. scott)
5. elf
6. the santa clause
7. the Bishop's wife
8. a charlie brown Christmas

any other ideas? (that's it for now, i'm off to take my medicine...)
