he's young, hip, has a great stage, good stage presence, spoke in a way that younger, hipper audiences can understand...even the fonts for the teleprompter were retro and inviting. his way of explaining things were plausible and i thought this is just what was needed to reach the teens to the 30-somethings. i think i liked him.
he did a talk on *manic martha* and *very mary* (any surprise why i liked him?) and spoke about how busy everyone is and talked about principles, priorities and commitments mentioned ephesians 5:15-16 (there's that ephesians reference again...) and lining things up with the Word, et cetera. i don't have my notes in front of me, however, he say something that made a small little flag go up in me - he said, "Jesus is the only one who knows when you are going to clock out."
now i just did an online search and cannot find scripture to support that. i was initially getting this confused with matthew 24:36
"But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.like i said, i had the first part of what he said confused with the second part of what i posted, above. but i am wondering if one of my favorite Saints of His can point me to the Scripture that says Jesus knows when we are going to die?
i am not trying to be legalistic. i think he had a good message, but i am sort of the type of person that if i hear something that isn't quite setting right with me, i need to dig a little bit deeper so i am relying on all my bible scholars to help a sista out :)
