blowing off steam/wednesday morning owner rant

it's difficult working when you aren't feeling well, even more so when you are busy, but i thank and praise God for the busy-ness and keep popping the advil.

i have intermittent hip pain. i've had it for months, talked the the docs about it vaguely but when my stomach virus hit sunday night, the pains came back full-force and it was all i could to to stand for any length of time. sitting anywhere without the feet up was out of the question so i was scarce around these parts yesterday.

thanks to those who (a) asked after my health and (b) prayed for me. the prayers must've worked because here i sit, cross-legged, and there is no pain.

can i get an *amen*?

had a customer get up and go behind my counter to get her own silverware yesterday, saying she'd "set her own table, that's okay..." i was livid. it's wierd, what i get upset about - should i see it as she's just trying to help when we were a little bit busy? no. i see it as she was somewhere she had no business being and with one slip and fall on my docket, i don't need another "accident" by the coffee satellites...what are people thinking? would you ever see yourself just going behind the line to get what you needed at any other restaurant?

what is up with that?

just now got a call from the dh - dishwasher's on the fritz, have to serve up on paper plates today and pray we get not compaints from the gallery - last time this happened, we heard that someone was bent out of shape because they prefer eating off of "real" dishes. we thought paper was better than having to close - we can't serve off of unsanitized dishware -- don't people "get it?"

this is turning into a work rant, sorry. it's where i am right now.

Lord have mercy on me and bless everyone else in my path today.

gotta run................
