God's timing...

...is everything.

i didn't blog about this because it was too overwhelming, but our new hire for the kitchen no-called/no-showed on wednesday.

panicky? you bet. that means my husband came in on his only day off in days...that we were now suddenly short-handed in a kitchen where, in exactly one week, we will really be short-handed as i begin my new job on the 4th.

Lord, You are in control, i am not.

we asked our busboy for the 3rd time if he wanted to learn how to cook? finally, his answer was *yes*. great. that's settled, even though we are still pressured because he is really new at it, but then that leaves a great gap in the front of the house as we will lose him there and yours truly cannot be counted on to be there until i have a set schedule.

"i am not worried," i told my husband. "God is in control, i am not."

"okaaaay....if you say so......" really uncertain but i felt God had it in His hands so much, i didn't even put an ad in the paper or change my sign out front asking for help.

we received a phone call today, asking if we needed any help for the front of the house? do y'all remember susan? she just moved back home with her mother, is going to be home-schooled, wants to turn her life around and said since she's left me she has had three jobs, none the least of which she felt comfortable at, that she missed me and missed our restaurant because it felt like home and it felt safe.

well, now.

we chatted a bit, i told her i was thrilled to hear from her but as much as she said she needs her job, that we really needed her to be dependable and reliant. she said "penni, i am so ready." i said "good, because you are so worth it!"

joy. i felt joy.
