crash

yesterday, a baby boy came into the world weighing all of 2 pounds when i was at work. i have never seen a baby this tiny - so precious, so very loved by his parents. the doctors and nurses from the nicu came running with the crash cart and were working diligently to keep him alive and, by the end of my shift, i heard he was placed on a ventilator. he was born at a 28 week gestational age.

please say a prayer for him and his family.

~*~*~*~

there was a pretty bad car accident at the corner of (where my restaurant is) early this morning and a car went careening into the front of our restaurant. as a result, the code enforcement officer told jim we would need to shore up the structure before we can reopen for business for the safety and comfort of our customers and we would probably be closed "for a couple of days."

i am uncertain if anyone was injured in the accident, but neither one of the cars was able to be driven away - jim said they looked "pretty messed up."

there are many people who think that owning a restaurant means we are *in the money*. if i have a second job, you know we are not in it, not at all. closing unexpectedly for two or more days (there was structural damage - the windows were smashed in, radiator torn up, front door is unable to be opened properly...) could be devastating to us.

in light of the prayer request above which is for the life of a baby, it seems almost silly to ask for a blessing this morning for our business -- but it is far-reaching being in business for yourself and your family and the ripple effect from this car accident could prove disastrous; i will boldly say we would covet your prayers, as well.
