my coffee break

i began my day on my knees at Mass yesterday morning and i forget who mentioned the times i can attend during the week would be all the sweeter, but they were *spot on*. it was wonderful.

i also ran for the most part all day and am overwhelmed with trying to get the things together that are important, do that which is important with my children and plan the week ahead wherein there are not one but two birthdays in my family - hub's is tomorrow, max's 16th is on thursday. dear one wants a new drum kit (can you hear the cash register sound vibrating in my head right now?)

i have to de-Christmas, do-laundry, go to ceramics, follow-up on a creative idea i had for lanyards, organize, shop for groceries, make Sunday dinner and maintain my focus. how do i expect to accomplish all of this?

i will begin my day on my knees at Mass this morning.......only He can prioritize these things for me. i just read an email-type forward from the nurse who instructed us this week on how to prioritize; it was basically a mason jar he filled to the top with golf balls. he asked his students if it was full, they responded *yes*. then he added pebbles, which filled in around the golf balls - full now? *yes*. then he added sand, which filled in around the pebbles and golf balls -- full yet? *yes*!!! then he poured coffee into the jar, which filled it to the brim......you get where this is going, right?

golf balls are our priorities like God, our family, our main focus. all the little stuff wouldn't fit into the jar had the golf balls (our priorities) been put into place first. just be careful how you fill your day :)

oh, and the coffee? was to remind us to take time out and have a cup of coffee with a friend every now and again. this was my coffee break and i chose to share it with you :)
