love actually

i had off today. i was very rarely here, even, to check on blogs or to blog myself. i went and bought a couple of movies and vegged out. the first one i watched: love actually.

while i know there are many who could wrangle over the morals of this movie, me being one of them, i simply love this movie: it is a holiday/fantasy-film, it lacks discretion in certain parts, has a wonderful cast and a very watchable quality -- this was my second viewing, but now that i own it, i know it will not be my last.

i had so much to accomplish today that went entirely out the window when i received a call from the high school to pick up my ailing son, which lead to the doctor's office, to the restaurant to pick up soup, to the video store, to hanging out. some days we are meant to hang out.

(i watched this movie, by the way, when max fell asleep for his nap. it is rated R and i do have some sense. i really do.)

next up: the importance of being ernest. (where is ukok? are you paying attention to all of this and do you recognize the common link between these movies i have been watching?) i usually simply surf the internet when i need to *get away* but for the most part over the last month, it's been all about the movies. so far, i have viewed sense & sensibility, master & commander, the BBC miniseries of pride & prejudice, emma, love actually, return to me...has anyone seen "the girl with the pearl earring?" any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

as an aside, what do you do to unwind?

i pray all are well and while i may be *scarce*, i do visit and pray for intentions as requested that are too numerous to mention here, and if you need me, i am an email away.....
