acts of worship

what do you consider an act of worship - not simply standing at church, worshiping for your hour (or two, depending on your church's length o' service...)

my buddy rwk had a cool post regarding worship and eloquently stated:
The air beneath the draping branches is cool and beautifully perfumed. I stood there this morning, drenched in the lovely fragrance, and drank it in for as long as I could. For a moment there I ceased to exist.
he goes on to state more in this sweet thread, so i won't give away all its rhymy-goodness, but he ended it with:
Ecstatic moments in the middle of the day - the simplest of joys. Why can't they be worship, too?
indeed, why not?

if i were at work like i should be today -- it was slow, i was the 'call-in' and was given the governor's reprieve, yay! -- i would consider my worship as helping a newly-sectioned mom get out of bed for the first time and changing her bedcovers...giving a graham cracker to a new big brother who is so overwhelmed, he is unsure of what to do next...stocking the i.v. tray...or along the cafe lines, sending home a quart of chicken soup with a customer whose wife is ailing...slipping our cook a $20 because he has a "big date" this evening...sweeping and mopping the floor without complaining...

but since i am here, i choose mine for today as: sitting at the computer, not blogging (save for earlier and right this moment), focusing on my much-neglected (4 months of neglect, tyvm) paperwork and listening to Bach's Magnificat all the while. if that ain't worship in the midst of trial, i don't know what is :)

how have you worshiped today?

**edited to add: this sounded a little self-serving and it was not meant to be -- i have seen many blogs as of late where people are lamenting over the amount of laundry and other such things that has to be done on a daily basis and wanted to point out that even our smallest acts, when done with great love, can be a form of worship.

that is all i have to say about that :)
