deep, insightful posting

i needed to laugh this morning so i took two online quizzes. if anyone wants to point me in the direction of more, feel free :)

just a week of notes in brief, followed by a photograph:
  • anything you have read/heard/seen in the papers/radio/evening news regarding women getting a bit hysterical over the thought of having their baby on 06/06/06 is 1000% true. this past weekend -- the weekends are the times we get caught up on the busy-work we cannot do during the week because the doctors have office hours -- we delivered 5 babies via c-section and had 7 inductions. monday morning was 9 babies born between the hours of 7a and 5p, and there were some strong, determined women who tried to hold off but had to have their babies on that fateful date that only comes around once a century. for posterity's sake, i am printing out what julie d. had posted (from rick lugari, who is no longer posting, unfortunately for us) and keeping it for the moms who had the unfortunate blessing of delivering their baby on tuesday. i am sure they will be relieved (oh, and who wouldn't?) -- as an aside, we had one baby born on 06/06/06 at 6:06 p.m. alert the media (wait ---> they were alerted by the baby's grandmother...)
  • it is really difficult to maintain impartiality with the political b*s that goes on with the women at the hospital when someone makes the girl who trained you (who is sweet as can be and exceedingly conscientious) cry. oh, it's all good until you make my friend cry. then it's "on."
  • i would like to maintain if i have made a mistake in my position, it is better to point out the mistake to me so i can never repeat it again, perhaps turn it into a teachable moment, than it is to make broad, sweeping generalizations aimed at all the techs and imply we are not doing our jobs...i was told it wasn't about me personally, so i wasn't to take things to heart. however, i was within earshot of the three musketeers when they were making their broad, sweeping generalizations, i take my job seriously, if you are disparaging all, you are disparaging one (me) and i am not immune to taking one for the team. just have to remember Who it is i really work for, but yesterday it was a long 12-hour shift and difficult to maintain that specific frame of mind. was filled with exceeding joy when 7p came around.
  • i do not function well at all when i miss Mass. i have not been to Mass since last week (thursday?) because i have done nothing but work. work. work. i cannot wait to go this morning.
  • aside from working, i took the advice of my friends to heart, stayed away from the computer (pretty much) and did some planting. finally. here is one of my window boxes:

  • deep, insightful posting to return today or tomorrow, after i've floated around the blogosphere to see what y'all have been up to :)
