so pen - how was work today?

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world
- James

Babies that are left behind wrapped in a sheet and placed in a trash bin would fall under that category

no, honora, i didn't. someone else did. i was sent to the e.r. with blankets and clothing -- minimal involvement in a situation that was chaotic and incredible at the same time...

Poor little guy, will he make it? What will happen to him if he does?

suzanne, i am sure the state will step in and intervene - we have a "no questions asked" drop-off policy for babies that are unwanted - church, police department, hospital. no names, no blame.

how anyone could still do this is unfathomable to me, although there are teens that wish to hide their pregnancies, drug-addicted mothers, et cetera.

sad, sad world.

How desperate that poor boy's mother must feel to do something like this to her little boy.

And it's completely unfathomable to me that a woman cannot know about NJ's safe haven law: Ads for it run in English and Spanish on the sides of buses and on billboards.

We must offer prayers for all concerned. And offer thanks to God for having the man who discovered the baby take out his trash moments after that baby boy was placed in the bin.

Maybe a boyfriend did this and not the desperate mother...then threatened her...who knows? So sad. I hope the baby will be okay. I am praying. Suzanne
