Song of the Inexhaustible Sun
13
I beg You: find me a hiding place
most inaccessible,
in the calm flow of wonder,
or at the dead of night.
I beg You: shield the side
which sinks to the dark.
I beg You: discover the side
which transfixes my sight.
I know such a hiding place where
I'd waste no spark from those suns
that burn under the eyes' horizon
fixed on the deep.
Then a miracle will be,
a transformation:
You will become me,
and I -- eucharistic -- You.
