CNS STORY: Thomas Merton scholars upset by monk's absence in upcoming catechism

full story found here or simply click on thread title, above

it would appear thomas merton has gotten bumped in favor of st. elizabeth ann seton, for noble and valid reasons.

if you know me, and most of you reading do, you will know i have a bit of an issue with this...however, i am knewly-acquainted with elizabeth ann seton and am already quite fond of her.

any other merton fans feeling a bit put-out?

It seems odd to leave Merton out of any contemporary church history - but I don't think Merton would be upset about it at all (it's a humility thing). And it is good to see saintly women get proportionate representation, but it also feels a bit like a saintly quota system.
