i said i wasn't going to give any reviews on the music i bought, but i lied.
LOVE derek webb. what a voice, he's a singer/songwriter, i am drawn to him like a moth to a flame. his *i see things upside down* i would highly recommend, it's on the mellow-side which is good. penni needs mellow.
building 429 is pretty cool. little more rock/progressive, like it a lot, recognized one or two of the songs from when i've listened to internet radio, that makes me happy because i think "oh, i like that" and then forget who it was. they are hip, mainstreamish and playable. i think we may see more of these guys around. their site is pretty neat, too.
the afters, way cool too - alternative. me likey, have to listen a bit more to make sure, but will defintely listen again (louder). and with the windows down so everyone can get their groove on, too. i think they have a *following* already so it will be fun to see how far this band goes.
david crowder band's *sunset & sushi* i wasn't too sure about. sounded like it had a bit of an asian techno-influence, fast-forwarded after part of the first song, listened to part of the second song, thought *oh, i don't think so...* put it on the cd player while i was doing something else and it played through - i think i like it! isn't that so cool? it's different for me, maybe the influence is asian only on this particular cd. regardless, i am curious enough now to check out earlier stuff.
my review work here is done. now - get out there and get tuned up!
(what are you waiting for?? get!!!)
