think about these things.

in a recent post by matthew of "from the morning," he commented:
...Hardcore pornography is just easily accessible by any 10-year-old, a click or two that may have started out innocently enough.

How many of us have been led to pornographic sites by accident? Through no deliberate intention of our own, perhaps searching for something as innocent as "teenage" or "pregnancy" we are suddenly inundated with popup after popup of women who have been victimized in the name of money, greed and evil.
i sat, reading this last night, shaking my head in affirmation - i won't go into my usual diatribe of what it does to children, demeans women (and men), et cetera; just couldn't have agreed more.

i subscribed to the truefresco site feed - i thought it was *neat* to be able to link back to visitors to my weblog, visitors who were usually too shy to say anything, just checking around out of curiosity. i like seeing what kind of traffic i generate and from where. until this morning.

i was over in my *dark* blog and scrolled down to check out my visitors. i recognized many of the sites, but there were a couple i wasn't sure about that sounded interesting enough, so i followed back. what met my eyes was so shocking, so revolting that i sat here, dumbstruck: am i so naïve that i think these types of blogs don't exist? i've read some disturbing things in the past, but to have them with images attached and further, the man stating that he is a SCHOOL TEACHER in a MIDDLE SCHOOL - what do i do with this type of information?

where does this even approach the idea of being acceptable? the man had comments on his blog. equally revolting. how does one find this a desirable blog to pursue? follow-up on? check back with?

is this random? yet another act of free will in the universe that God created? i would have to wonder, if God - all knowing, all loving, creator of amazing beauty, when He fashioned the world and all that is in it - had anticipated the evolution of pornography. is this just another example of our moral decline and it smacked me in the face of my curiosity in checking a link that seemed normal enough.

*sigh*

i have deleted my subscription to truefresco.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. philippians 4:8
