information / important tips o' the day /question

while this is usually something i'd post on my darker blog, i just thought i'd pop in and give you a little update and important tips.

update on the max-y guy: he's coming along swimmingly and even though i had to work today, he made it through without my assistance as his friend jonathan and he hung out and played the drums and tried to get my internet back on-line. important tip: always check to make sure the cable modem is turned *on*

just because someone is an hour and a half late for work doesn't mean they've (a) gotten into an accident on their way in, or (b) decided to leave this world on their own accord. it could simply mean (c) they overslept their alarm and will mea culpa the balance of their time in, if they still have a job (he did and he still does...) (thank you, God.)

i've been working a lot and yesterday morning, i was up and outta here at 4:45 a.m. these are some long days and it gets to about 108 degrees F in the kitchen, and with the humidity, you feel like you are in a sauna. remember how my day was on sunday... let's add a severe burn to a 108 degree kithen: blisters formed. important tip, ad nauseum: sunscreen and window fans.

if you routinely get a prescription filled and they give you the refill in a different bottle and it's a different size? important tip without going into detail: double-check with the pharmacy. you'd rather find out that it is a generic rather than the fact that the previous pharmacist gave you the wrong dosage.

there's been very good reason for my, ahem, hypersensitivity. when i called the pharmacist in charge, she told me she was in touch with her supervisor and eveything was being documented. now i ask you this, what would you do?

  • i am okay, save for shedding many more tears in the last month than i had the previous two.
  • it wasn't life-threatening, what happened to me, but it was life-inconveniencing instead of life-enchancing.

i called my doctor's office to let them know what happened and they flipped. i have an appointment with Dr. Has No Time to See You Until Two Months From Now on monday morning at 10:45.

i am not a litigious person and, in fact, hate it when others sue for no reason (it's my legal secretarial background that made me this way -- i've seen my share of frivilous lawsuits). is this one of those instances where it would be something that would cross your mind, even the tiniest of ways? again, i am okay physically and it wasn't like my heart medication; however, i have been in not so good a way mentally and didn't know why until i discovered i had taken a month's worth of my medication at half the dosage i need for, uh....stability, shall we say?

would an apology be enough knowing the pharmacist would be reprimanded, or would you want the Big Corporate CVS pay (as in stick it to the Man)?

thoughts welcomed.
