whoooooo-boy. i am in deep doo.
my friend, moneybags from a Catholic life, had kindly in the past, with the help of the Holy Spirit, chosen my saint o' the year, St. David. it was a match made in heaven for many reasons and for that, i am truly grateful.
i found out via julie d. he was now conducting a "fruit & gift of the Holy Spirit" devotion.
The creator of that devotion (saint choosing) had the brillant idea of starting another devotion where we receive a fruit/gift of the Holy Spirit. With Pentecost approaching, it would be great not just to pray for all the gifts/fruits but to focus on one special one. I received the gift of wisdom in the drawing, and I have been really praying for greater wisdom now. Just like the Saint for the Year devotion, this is a way to grow closer to God.i bit. probably a little bit too hard as i was given the fruit of patience -- patience, people!! are you reading that? i am so improperly impatient at times, it is mind-boggling! why not give me the fruit of "tolerance," or "extrovertedness," if such a one existed, hmm??
oy.
i am nervous. from what i know and can attest, the more you pray for patience, the more trials the good Lord sends you to test what little patience you (think you) have.
yikes.
the gift of knowledge i will take readily because i am happy to learn every day and hopefully absorb new stuff like a sponge. i am wondering if this is perfect timing with the new book i am reading, "the Irresistible Revolution," by shane claiborne?
again, i say: hmmm.
be careful what you ask for ;)
