yesterday was a very powerful day for me, spiritually. i felt very connected and was really incredibly blessed by being at the hospital for the day, as well as incredibly humbled. it is amazing to me, still, that i am in this place. i am beyond grateful for the opportunity to be able to serve God in this way. i am truly blessed.

the cafe ran smoothly in my absence, God is so good, and jimbo said the first tomato plant went to a lady who said, "but i am not a mother..." he asked, "do you have any pets?" "a cat," she replied... "happy mother's day" he said and handed over her gift. she was thrilled and from what i understand, there were many conversations like that throughout the day, all ladies left happy and we are hoping to reap some of the benefits of an overabundance of tomatoes in the future (you know, kind of a *what goes around, comes back around* theory we are playing on...)

i came home to wonderful surprises from my children - ben had given me a beautiful statuette of a mother & son the previous night when we had dinner out with kelly in tow - what a saint of God, dealing with the family without the benjamin being present at the outset! she is a trooper ;)

last night, molly & max gave me the Canon Power Shot A540, which was totally unexpected and a complete joy to receive as my camera has been out of commission for months now. molly's camera is an extension of herself and when i asked to borrow it for philadelphia, you would have thought i requested the removal of an appendage. it gave my husband the idea and he ran with it. very cool.

molly used it all night :)

max, in an unusual, sweeping gesture of generosity, planted a 20-spot in my mother's day card. is that the best or what? the widow's mite, he had just gotten paid the week before a mere $25 and he gave from his coffers and his heart.

yes, i will be spending on him, just the same...

i had a glass or two of wine with dinner and promptly retired to the couch, where i basically crashed out - literally - and molly captured the moment which i am, without shame, showing you below. if you look closely enough, you can see the blue scrubs are still on under the quilt, but i rested quite peacefully during the sopranos, thanks be to God :)
